Agreed (not that I would have bought one to begin with)

I have yet to see ANYTHING made with the Suzuki name on it that was not cheaply built. I've had several friends buy Suzuki SUV's over teh last 20 years and all fell apart on a daily basis and had near zero resale. I had a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle that left me stranded regularly due to cheap ignition parts. I also had a Suzuki outboard that was just plain cheap and ran rough from day 1 . The worst part about this whole thing is that as the Equator gets a reputation for quality issues, ( and it will) we can only hope that the press leaves nissan's name out of it.

How about the Nissan/Dodge concern? Will Suzuki continue to make the Equator comparable to the Frontier when Dodge starts making Nissan trucks and changes over to Detroit styling and options, or will Suzuki follow suit?

the 4-cyl frontiers come with a 5MT, not the 6MT that the V6's get.

Dodge will only be making the Titan, not the frontier.

further, the suzuki is made in the same plant as the frontier so they will be what nissan decides to let them be,

why would the equator get a reputation for quality issues? Suzuki isnt building it, Nissan is building it. It will have the EXACT same build quality as the frontier (unless nissan is smart and only builds equators on mondays and fridays...)

There seems to be a whole lot of misinformation and general cluelessness around here about how this all works. Nissan will be building equators for suzuki. eventually, dodge will be building titans for nissan (meaning we get dodge build quality). I'd be more concerned about the dodge built titan ruining Nissan's reputation for quality than I would worry about the equator ruining it.

I think Nissan is trying to ruin there name. Having dodge build the titan, and building a truck for suzuki. I would love to know what they are thinking at Nissan.

I havent either. When i think suzuki the first thing that pops to mind is garbage.
