When do you guys change your brake pads?

When do you guys change your brake pads? I have a 1/4" left remaining on the inner pads. There is more on the outer pads. Minimum thickness requirement is 3/32", which I'm almost at. I noticed the squealer is set to only 1/32." A brand new pad has a thickness of 3/8." Therefore, my pads have worn down an 1/8 of an inch.

I'd let em keep going. You haven't even worn half the material away. I'd keep em on until the squealer hits.

Maine inspection law says 2/32" minimum on the pads (why they couldnt just say 1/16th I dont know). Anyway, right about then.

You have a lot of miles left on your brake pads. If they are wearing even, leave em. I wouldn't worry about it until you start hearing the squealers, they start making noise, or if they start to pulsate.
