I am still finishing off my kit but so far I have

Duel Battery charger with 110 amp hr 12 volt battery. In a portable battery box with external terminals and cigarette socket outlets. ( I just stap it in the back and connect it as needed)
PDA GPS with in built receiver (so its portable). Have road maps but will get toppo maps in the future.
Hand held 5 watt 40 chl UHF radio with 12 volt adaptor.
Heavy Duty Snatch strap with shackles.
4 tonne hydraulic jack
12 volt compressor capable of 70ltr/sec, with 7 mtr hose (which I am going to mount permanently in one of my under tray tool boxs.)
Separate tyre gauge
fire extinguisher
A big tool box with a lot of hand tools including small axe, lots of spanners and a FBH.
first aid kit
shovel
rags + hand cleaner
torch
and a heap of other crap i cant think of right now.

Still need to get a hand winch with tree strap and extension srtap.
I am going to mount a PVC tube with a tap under the rear tray to carry water.

Right now I dont have much in there, always got warm clothes up here in the winter, you don't mess around that way. (On Tuesday it was -35Celcius, with a windchill of -45!) But I am working so I have some tools. I am looking into getting my box sprayed(I have an SE KC) and also looking into a Canopy. Then I will get a real Survival Kit going. I got this info from MEC(www.mec.ca) they have lots of great camping/hiking/ect...info.
Use this list of survival essentials compiled by North Shore Search and Rescue and the BC Federation of Mountain Clubs.
  • Map
  • Compass – Even if you are carrying a GPS, it is essential that you can navigate using a map and compass.
  • Water
  • Extra food
  • Extra clothes
  • First-aid kit – The size of the kit will depend on the number of people in your party, the length of the trip, and the remoteness and level of risk you plan to engage in. Remember to restock items in your kit and to check the condition of the contents and any expiration dates.
  • Knife
  • Headlamp/flashlight – With spare bulbs and batteries.
  • Whistle – A whistle attracts attention, can be heard over long distances, and is more sustainable than shouting for help. Three blasts is a standard distress signal.
  • Waterproof matches/lighter
  • Fire starter/candle lantern
  • Large orange plastic bag – One of the most valuable items on the list. Crawl into the bag to keep warm and dry. The orange colour is highly visible and helps attract attention, particularly from the air.
  • Emergency space blanket
Training and practice is essential for using a map, compass, and first-aid kit, as well as for lighting fires.

Well I basically never go offroad more than just splashing in the mud puddles or donuts in a dirt lot, but I've got a fire extinguisher, flashlight, maps, pens, extra oil, leatherman, tools(various), and a skimboard...I do live in CA and you just never know when you're going to need one! Oh and an extra pair of contacts, as well as a pair of glasses...and am going to buy a cheap camera one of these days in case of a crash...knock on wood.
