I'm not carrying all of this in my Frontier yet for lack of a tool box, but in my Ranger I always had:

first aid kit
jumper cables
an extra jack
emergency air compressor
tire plug kit
4-way lug wrench
Craftsmen 100+ pc tool set
extra antifreeze
water
quart of oil
12x10 tarp
bag with change of clothes (cold and warm weather)
overnight kit (toothbrush, deo, ect...)
wool blanket
two 20' tow straps
tow hooks
30' rope and some twine
two 1" ratchet straps
LED flashlight
cordless 1 million candlepower spotlight
corded 1 million candlepower spotlight
comealong
trash bag
compass
at least 3 knives (pocket, hunting, fillet)
hatchet
crowbar
small shovel
handful of zipties
gloves
maps
lighter
extra compact credit card
usually a 20 ga and a .22 rifle and all kinds of ammo (I like to hunt)
ear plugs (I also shoot clays)
clay pigeon thrower
fishing rods and small tackle box from april to october
2x6 to fillet fish on
pecil and paper
toilet paper (really comes in handy!!)
many weekends there was a cooler in the bed filled with "beverages"

Whew, and I'm sure I've missed some things!! It took nearly all day to unload everything when I took it all out of my Ranger to sell it. It may seam paranoid but I used almost everything in here at one time or another. Some of this stuff is priceless in a jam.

I forgot to mention fire extinguisher. I personally don't have one yet (been meaning to pick one up for a while) but it's something that everyone who goes offroad should carry.

I think you may want to look into a Titan to store everything in and a Frontier to drive. I'm hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!! I was waiting for someone to put condoms. I'm disappointed in you guys.

My emergency gear:
Water
Dried food (not the kind the kids drop on the ground)
2 jackets - thin rain jacket and heavier one
Extra socks
Gloves
Flashlight
Swiss army knife
Compact Air compressor
Jumper cables
Power inverter
4 heavy duty winch straps (Probably the most handy thing I've carried, $15 at Costco)
set of bungee cords
Tarp
Spider net (which I've never used yet)
Set of tools
Hitch ball & mount
And in the summer time, the golf clubs (cause ya never know)

i dont think the water we are refering to will be for the truck. it will be for drinking. if your gonna carry for the truck it should be a 50/50 mix so you always have coolant to replace any thats lost. hot summer day and nothing but water and your gonna fry something. plus coolant lubes the moving parts of the cooling system.
