Probably right, between the interior differences, coils, shocks and maybe some of the electronics, probably cheaper to swap the tranny than the axle.

yea iirc he had connections with some big wigs at Nissan USA and special ordered it. point is that it can be done (not that anyone said it couldn't) but they just don't for 99.9% of the country. since he has the only CC 4wd Nismo 6spd known, i'd say that is the most rare frontier out there. other than that, in 2nd gens i don't see a lot of the 05 only colors: canteen green and mountain gold. electric blue was an 05 only color as well but i see those here in town and online a lot more frequently. i've only seen a few canteen greens ever post here and i've only seen one in person. i've also only seen a few mountain golds post ever as well. those would be pretty rare regardless of cab config, trans or 2wd/4wd.

oh yea much cheaper and much less labor i'm sure. you'd have to swap out a lot of electronics to change an SE to a Nismo and make it "factory" (ie not just running a switch for the locker... changing the computer and the dash wiring harness, relays, and everything else associated)

I've only seen one other long bed CC around here and I'm pretty sure it was a 2x2.
