Weird sound from truck?

Solo, I noticed in that thread they talk about the tensioner. My trucks only 1-1/2 years old. I can't believe the tensioner would already be going out!
BUT you never know.
I'll keep an ear out to see if it changes with the temp.

My truck makes this sound when its cold. Last week it did not make it above 15 and every night was below zero. Every morning i had this sound until i started driving and truck got a little warmer. I would not worry about it. I have had my truck for 1-3/4 years so its still pretty new.

If it sounds just like the power steering on full tilt, the oil pump can make a very similar noise when stressed. This can be for a multitude of reasons. Thick oil when its cold can worsen it. What weight oil are you running and how often is it changed? The level is where is should be?

When this happens on a Saab, (Im a Saab fanatic too) its most likely a sludge issue and a clogged oil pickup screen. Stressed pump noised are nothing to ignore, because low oil pressure leads to bad things. what does your oil pressure gauge look like when it makes this noise? (I know its a dummy gauge, but it will give you some indication if its low)

My trucks about the same age too. I believe its just the serpentine tensioner.
now that it warmed up some. it has gone away.

just had the oil changed. I went with 5-30 castrol syntec. all fluids are topped off. I'm just gonna chock it up to cold weather. since now that its in the high 20's it has gone away.

thanks for the help
