My trucks about the same age too. I believe its just the serpentine tensioner.
now that it warmed up some. it has gone away.

When this happens on a Saab, (Im a Saab fanatic too) its most likely a sludge issue and a clogged oil pickup screen. Stressed pump noised are nothing to ignore, because low oil pressure leads to bad things. what does your oil pressure gauge look like when it makes this noise? (I know its a dummy gauge, but it will give you some indication if its low)

just had the oil changed. I went with 5-30 castrol syntec. all fluids are topped off. I'm just gonna chock it up to cold weather. since now that its in the high 20's it has gone away.
