vent control valve repair , code P0448 fix

So. Every once in a while i would get the code P0448 , And a few days ago the gas filler would spit out fuel on the ground . I thought it was because of the body lift i just installed , But it was not , It was the vent control valve. You can see it located near the drivers rear tire on the canister , Which is right next to the rail , Very easy to remove , Just disconnect the wire and the hose . Unhook the clip and then turn to the left , A half turn pull off .

Spray brake cleaner in it both ends . Then spray air in it from a spray gun . And then it was loose again , Before I couldn't get air though it at all . So then I reinstalled it and the code went away. And now it works again and it fills up fine no fuel spilling out .

This worked for me. So if you have the code problem P0448 it may be the vent control valve stuck or dirty , If your fuel is spilling out or slow fill up It may be clogged . You may want to check out the vent control valve

Yeah pics would put this thread to the next level.
If anybody does this please take pictures and post them here.
My truck will do this every once in a while also.
Seems like it does it more when it's cold out for some reason.

I'm gonna give this a shot. My truck has been throwing the P0448 Code for about 2 weeks now. It has also been acting finnicky when refueling. Sometimes it trips the auto shut off on the pump when the truck isn't near full. It'll also burp a bit of fuel as described above.

I checked out my valve today. It was full of fine dust and sand. I cleaned it out best I could with compressed air and brake cleaner. Will report back on whether it fixed the problem or not. For those wondering how difficult this job is....well it isn't. It took all of 15 minutes. I pulled off my rear tire to make it easier to access, it was quite simple. I hope cleaning the valve works.
