ok, so i had taken my truck to the dealer for its third oil change service, no big deal, truck is new less than a year old and only has 15000 kms. as im waiting the service adviser come to me and says to me, Tim "we" have a few problems, and i looked at her and said, no you have a problem, anyway turns out the oils are leaking from everywhere, oil pan, front diff, there is mention of drive axle but that's likely the same as front diff, and here is the **** talk, they has also mentioned the words "head gasket", i was pissed and told them if that was the case i wanted a new crate engine in the truck, do u think i was out to lunch to tell them i wanted that.
here is the second issue, we had agreed on a time to have it repaired/looked at closer, which was last Friday 730 AM because its the next day they had a courtesy car available, so they call Thursday to confirm appointment, and i ask them, is that courtesy car going to be there at 730, she tells me no, we don't have one booked for you, then tells me that they can send me "half" way home by cab, i couldn't believe it, i live 20kms from the dealer and they only send you about 10 kms. she then told me that on Wednesday is the next available time and i agreed, but she mentioned that the courtesy car was a $10 charge, i laughed at her and said that i will be there on Wednesday morning for the car and i will not have $10 for them, she said ok, we will take car of the car for you.
I was just under my truck yesterday, and I noticed that the steering linkage had oil all over it. Looked a little more, and can see oil on the structure behind the oil filter. At first I thought maybe it was just because I had my oil changed. Regardless, I think I'm taking it in now to have it checked.

My rack has oil on it and I KNOW it's from the filter because when I changed the filter, the oil goes everywhere but where is should. Don't worry.

Yikes.
Good luck
It's hard not to get upset, I get it, but remember to be firm, but respectful. It doesn't mean you cant be a pain in pushing the advisors to keep calling Nissan though.
Keep us updated
Why would they replace an entire engine for a gasket leak? did it leak internally and damage other components? And if so, how and why did they diagnose at a maintenance inspection? I'm assuming that it has an external leak and the dealer is doing the correct thing by replacing the failed component. Nissan will not give you a new engine unless there is a reason for it, and that has nothing to do with the dealer.
You dont just get a new engine because you had a fit.
On a side note, if you noticed no oil leaks or other issues prior to this, i would get a second opinion before letting them continue, as this sounds a little peculiar.
Second, servicer loaners, shuttle rides, etc... are all provided by the dealer at theyre cost, and they are under no obligation to give you either. A decent dealer will make arrangments for you, but that comes out of their pocket and varies from dealer to dealer. If you have nissan extended warrenty (ASP), it will cover a car rental in the event that your vehicle is undrivable.

first of all, i dint have a "fit", i was upset yes, the truck is 9 months old and has 15,000 kms on it, and possibly three gasket leaks, second (on a side note) i park the truck in the garage and there are no signs of any leaks on the floor, and thirdly the loaner car which they offered, was "arranged" for at the original appointment and no mention of a fee was relayed to me at the time, 10 bucks is nothing but, tell me first, i rarely carry cash on me these days and then to tell me that they didnt book it after we had just talked about it and to tell me that they can put me in a cab, but only half way home.
Now im not a big engine know all, but just the other day when colder, around -10c there was what i thought to be an over excessive amount of frost, at the tailpipe, which to me was odd, as no other vehicles on the road had that. but we will see what comes about on Wednesday.
