Trading frontier for f350. Opinions and info wanted.

I've had my 06 4wd cc SE frontier since it was born. It has been very dependable and has 94k on the odometer. When I bought it I was single and didn't have kids... Well things have changed and the all seats are occupied and I need more room!

What do you guys/gals think about a 1999 v10 f350 with 100k cc/4wd/dually/long bed? Please don't mention the MPGs I know I'm gonna be at the 10-14mpg range. I will probably have a smaller daily driver.

I do tow a travel trailer, and carry heavy loads often. What do you know about this ford?

Downhill, downwind, on a good day.

If you're going to be driving something else on a daily basis anyway, how often are you actually going to benefit from the F350's extra room?

The 350 is def a *work* ( farm, city, county , etc... ) vehicle ... if you need more room the 150 is plenty. Park your frontier next to a 150 then check it out from the inside...

Front ends on the big trucks wear out fast due to all that weight. Worse if it's been used to plow.

If you're going for a truck that big, go for a diesel. Otherwise, go smaller. A CC 150 will have plenty of room.

Keep the frontier (you will miss it) and get the f-350, best of both worlds.

I was a ford tech for my program co-op and from what I've seen the v10's have their fair share of engine problems and parts are difficult to come by. head warping was pretty big on them, and for a new one, people were set back on average about 3 grand. even remans for em are pushing 2.

+1

Can I get an A-men?

There's a F350 diesel driving co-worker who gets 17 mpg average, which is not bad IMHO. If I needed that kind of pulling power, I'd also do a diesel, but preferably not a 6.0 (if you've narrowed it down to Ford.)

(No offense to anyone who has a 6.0, I just see it from a service/replacement part side.)

If you get a diesel, make sure it is the 7.3 not the junk 6.0.
The V10's get 8-10 mpg fyi...we have one at work.

Kids mean you need something the size of an aircraft carrier and is offensively huge?
