lol, come to think of it that was the only "gm" vehicle that didn't give us any major problems.

but the real point that I was trying to make was that nissan doesnt tout itself as a luxury maker, they are the maker of the sport sedan, sport truck, sport SUV, etc...

I am not saying that they can't be comfortable, more that they are usualy tuned more to the side of handling than comfort.

and more the fact that I love them for it

I drove an Altima a while back as a loaner while they were
working on my truck and it was no where near as nice to drive as my wife's Solara.

I have not driven the new Maxima, but if I spend that much it will be for an Acura TL. Now those are nice.

the 2007 altima are aimed to compete with the TL, but at a lower price.

I drove sportscars most of my life, mostly British and I loved them. I had a Miata until about
a year ago. At my age I am past that. At 123.5 pounds this evening I do not
have much padding back there. That might be why I feel so uncomfortable in the Nissans.

I want something more comfortable for long trips now and if Nissan does not build it I'll go
where they do. My wife's Solara handles very well for the kind of driving we do and
we'll probably go with another Toyota or Acura when we trade.

I just find it kind of strange that a company with as many
models as Nissan has does not offer a comfortable sedan
for us old folks.

Most people do not care all that much about performance especially with the price of gasoline now. This is probably one of the reasons that Nissan is falling behind Toyota and
Mazda.

Don't mean to make waves as I have probably owned as many Datsun/Nissans as anyone on here.

well it is not about performance perse, more about handling, PPG of fuel not withstanding...

I've driven a lot of different cars (be them rentals, or test driving on the lot, or what ever, I am in the industry).

and I like a vehicle that can take a corner at a high rate of speed before it the tires start screaming fro mercy!

Yeah, me too...I just like sprited driving and handling in my vehicles...but in fairness to OkieScot, he has a few years on me...ask me again in 30 years and I bet I want something with a little nicer ride too.
