Tongue weight

Have the 2012 Frontier Crew Cab 4 x 4
I love it so far...
But,
I have a toy hauler that has not been sold quite yet and want to still use it
I would pull about 2 hours or so.

It has a tongue weight of 950 weighing 5000.
I have a weight distribution hitch I used with the f250 previously.

Has anyone used Super Springs Intl. to help with the extra weight distribution above the leaf springs to help with the tongue weight?
Airbags needed?
Suggestions?
Forever optimist...
Thanks in advance

A tongue weight of 950# is a lot of weight for a 5000# trailer. Are you sure the tongue weight is that high?

Unfortunately yes
2 - 7 gal propane
4- deep cycle batteries with custom rack

Was told the Super Springs would help a bit
Miss my F250

Take the batteries and tanks out and put them at the back of the trailer that sould transfer 300Lbs or so off the tongue and even more when put at the back of the trailer. Maybe get you close to the 550-600 mark. 10% tongue wheight seems to be average for trailer setups if I remember right. About the only way I know of doing it right.

No room being a toy hauler, I could reduce to one tank , 2 batteries as well
Still want to explore the super spring idea if anyone has ever used heard it can increase the payload another 800. Just not sure what the ride would be.
Just bought this ride and need just alittle more

Smokster,

I towed 6500 lbs with my 09 with wd hitch and Firestone ride right airbags.

The air bags helped with the tg weight and the sway of the truck pulling the trailer.

The bags really helped keep the truck level going around interstate turns at speed.

Wow
Good amount of weight with these smaller trucks
I was worried about 5500...
What mpg were you getting 7-8?

I was pulling 7k 16' 2 axle trailer with 4500lb milling machine from Oh to Sc or from sc to albany NY.

I was getting 8-10mpg depending which route I was driving.

The first thing is to get wd hitch adjusted properly,Mine is square bar with built in sway control.

I would only put enough air in the bags 20 psi or so, the truck did not raise or sag any after wd hitch was connected, this added stability to the truck and the truck did not have any body or frame roll in turns.

Also made sure I had the weight in the correct place on my trailer.
