has anyone put used titan tie rods on as a cheap alternative to buying new tie rod extensions for their titan swap? i dont know if it would be worth the trouble or if the titan tie rods would even fit on our steering gear. just wana get ur guys input before i start calling around

My understanding is that the tie rods are the same for the frontier and titan. The titan gets the width from having a wider steering rack. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes the steering rack is wider on the Titan.

If you buy the steering rack from a Titan it should include the inner and outer tie rods. And if you tend to have your truck in the air, having the whole steering rack would probably be beneficial.
And just to confirm, yes the Titan outer tie rods are the same as the frontier.

I would stay with a frontier rack, having a wider rack and shorter tie rods will give you angle problems. Watch the vid, Ran the mut today as you can see the tie rod pivot point is even with the lower control arm pivot. If you moved it out 3" per side the toe would change drastically during compression and rebound. The best way would be a after market race rack keeping the same pivot points, with custom tie rods. All it takes is money.

ok so the titan tie rods arent longer than the frontier's therefore they wouldnt work as an extension unless you get the titan rack. it would seem that a frontier rack and pinion with tie rod extensions (on a titan swap of course) has an advantage over a stock titan steering setup because our rack is thinner with pivot points closer to the center of the vehicle but with the same wheelbase width as a titan (after titan swap), allowing for greater travel of the tie rod. BTW i went ahead and got the extensions from PRG
