"Slip" and Spinning of Tires

I hate coming around corners that are a tiny bit wet and my limited slip kicking in. Even with BCD off it does it. I can't even spin the bloody tires in my Frontier without it kicking in. I know it's good for some reasons but it's not great for having some fun!

After owning an '86 Toyota Turbo 5-Speed truck that would easily wheel slip even on dry roads, I'll take my Frontier with the ABLS anyday. Maybe I'm getting old, but lighting up the tires when pulling out into fast traffic is irritating and I hate looking like a showboat. But, I must admit that it would be fun *just once* to try it with my Frontier without the ABLS. <g>

I hate knowing that I have more horsepower than my buddy with a F-150 4.8L V8 and he always says "you cant even spin a tire"!

Ahh, but if you get into a spot where it's sit there and spin ... stuck ...or it engages and you get to go home.....you'll be happy you have at least limited slip ! and your not calling the tow truck to pull you out !!!

Some people have pulled a fuse to solve this problem.

yeah. you can put fuse taps in the ABS and run wires to a switch, make sure to put in an inline fuse. this disables all that braking, however it disable your gauges so its much better to have a switch setup

FWIW, I had major slippage UNTIL I got some real tires - neither the BFGs nor the NITTOs have nearly as much propensity towards LS kicking in as the **** stock tires.

I like having the ABLS, my last 'vehicle' would slip and slid when it was CLOUDY... and it was way under-powered... it had a manual tranny that I had to start in 2nd or 3rd if there was ANY moisture on the ground.

But the Fronty never looses traction and holds the road WHEN I need it, I love that truck!
