seatbelt light stays on?

after i put the altima seats in last week all was cool and after about an hour of driving, my seatbelt light came on. i was wearing my belt, and decided to plug in the passenger belt and it shut off...but if i unplug the passenger side, it is back on. i reset the computer today before leaving work, and again, about an hour later the light came on again. any ideas? when i swapped the seats, i did use the frontier seatbelt locks on the new seats. i was wondering, if i just cut the seatbelt wires and splice them together, would the light stay off.

You don't have any weight on the passenger seat do you while cruising around?
I'm curious, what do the Altima seats look like in the truck? any pics?

i havent looked at your other post about the seats but did the alt seats have the weight sensor in them? if not thats why your light is staying on. out trucks have a weight sensor in them that detects(i believe) anything over 100lbs and activates the airbag on the pass side and also activated the seatbelt alarm. i'll look in your other post in a bit and come back and edit this one if it did have that sensor.

i'd wager they probably don't have the sensors which is why there is an error, wonder if newer model seats would have worked, like from an 05+ altima? i know the 05+'s had a similar pass side air bag off feature like our 2nd gens do
