You're welcome. I guess you would have to look for one in a salvage yard on a LE that was totalled in a front end or rear end crash.

Thinkin out loud here: Has anybody ever looked into seeing if it would it be easier/ cost effective to order a LE with SE bumpersand/or wheels?? The LE tends to come stanard with allot of the options that people add onto the SE anyway. Seems like it would be allot easier to swap bumpers than to tear the headliner out and install the rack. ( Didn't Irongrave do a nice write-up on this process?) Assuming of couse, Nissan didn't charge you for both sets of bumpers/wheels.
Personally, I would add a Thule rack system and put the save $ towards some accessories. I don't find the factory rack all that functional as it comes installed.

Roof Rack

Don't waste the money on the factory rack, it looks cool and holds a bit of weight but what other have said is correct, save the money go buy a Yakima or a Thule rack, they are stronger and dont require you drilling holes in your truck. Also I have heard somewhere trucks that will have the factory rack put on them will get extra supports added at the factory, the non rack trucks dont. Again this is just something I heard I cannot verify that it is true.

You actually CANNOT get a thule or a yakima rack for our trucks without drilling holes, trust me I tryed. Its a little scary to drill holes in your roof but I love my Thule rack I installed and it was WAY cheaper than trying to buy a factory rack. Here is a write up I did on the installation with Pics:

Thule Roof Rack Installation (pics)

if you have any questions about the install let me know..

If you haven't bought a rack yet, I will sell you my factory rack. I am currently developing the Black Widow Off Road prototype convertable roof rack on my truck, so I have no need for the factory rack anymore.

Get a Thule or Yakima system. It will be more functional and cost much less.
The prices I was seeing were around $400 parts/delivery and you install yourself.

Try here for starters.

I did my Yakima a few months ago. It really is a good rack. I did Landing Pad 7's instead of the full tracks. The whole base system cost me $280. I installed it myself. Its not that hard, just be sure to measure twice and drill once.

If he doesn't want it... how much do you want for it?

Do you have pics of the completed project? And during installing?

Nissan Frontier D40 Navara Roof Rack Load Bars by Yakima, Control Towers, Landing Pads 7

That is a pretty good write up on an install using the same stuff I did. Mark is a member here as well (sn: articulate).

Another Yakima Install

That link is my first post with the pics that I took after I was done. Didn't take any during installation.
