Revisiting the Fog Light Bypass

Hello Everyone.

Has anyone done this mod to their foglights? fog light by-pass

It was posted a while ago, I've looked at it countless times for the past few months, and have been stuck on the fact that it may overload some wiring or be bad for a circuit.

Just wondering who has done it and if anyone has experienced any problems.

Install looks real simple, problems that could follow are what scare me.

Thanks in Advance,
Tom

Thx Guys, I just wanted to double check. I'll probably get the Add a Circuit tonight and make my life fog-o-rific. From what I've gathered, the switch on the stalk will no longer control the fog lights, they will turn on with the tails, correct?
Was there any way to make this mod work with the stock switch? Probably not I spose.

yes, you lose control of the switch. i have looked into changing that but had to give up. i need a paper FSM and some actual wiring diagrams before i start slicing into wires to make the switch work.

Kind of odd how I paid $80 for the stalk last summer, just to have that switch when I added the fogs, now I'm gonna disable it. Haha. It'll be nice to run my fogs with any light combination though, and why not have em on when the tailights are on? I have an electronic service manual...but I doubt its worth the bother. All the wiring in these newer vehicles (coming from a 97' XE) is crazy.
