Resetting TPMS light.

I've got an issue with my TPMS light. I run all my tires at 35psi on my '05 LE. The other day my TPMS light went off and when I checked tire pressures the right front was down to 31psi. So the sensor did it's job. I then inflated the tire back to 35psi and the light has yet to go back off. It doesn't beep or anything. It just stays lit. I checked the pressure on my tires this morning and all 4 were reading 35psi. So why hasn't my TPMS light turned off. Do I have to reset it somehow?

Have you driven the truck above 20 mph for a distance? You have to drive the truck so the transmitters can send the signals to the receiver. Once it recognizes the right pressures in all 4 tires, the light should go out.

Yes definately. I drove it 10 miles on the interstate yesterday at about 75mph. Maybe my TPMS is messed up.

I had mine go on once before and that was from a screw in the tire. It took about 3 days for my light to go off after the tire was repaired with about 40 miles driven. I would give it a week. I thought for sure my sensor was broken from when they removed the tire, but that was about 9 months ago and it hasn't come on since.

I'm having a problem with mine staying on at the moment...I think It might be from the spair tire being on from where I busted a tire wheeling yesterday

My light usually turns off within a few minutes of airing all the tires up to around 36 psi.

My light is always gone the next time I start up the truck.

Weird how things are different between the same truck...grin

I've been checking my tire pressures with a standard pencil gauge. I thought that maybe the readings were off so I stopped at advanced auto last night and picked up an G.H. Meiser Accu-gage TG75. These are supposed to be pretty good from everything I've read. Readings were almost identical between the accugage and the pencil gauge. Two tires were right at 35psi, one was at 35.5 and the other was 34psi. So my TPMS should be turning off.

Read your manual to see where the low limit is. My '05 is 28 psi. I don't think yours should be going off at 31 psi.

Check the spare since it's close enough in proximity to set it off when it's too low. At any rate in my experience sounds like something is amiss.

During ABS/ABLS/TPMS testing my TPMS indicator went off every time within 1/4 mile over 10 mph at the about the same point around the block. Similar results found and posted by another member about a year ago. Post back what you find please.

The spare tire doesn't have a transmitter in it.
