Uhhh???

The sensor works great I believe, but the light is blinking. I'm hoping is bad oil. Ima give it an oil change and give it an additive and hope it shuts it off.

I have not put a sending unit in your truck but have others. The problem you seem to have appears to be the wiring from the unit to the dash. That would be my suggestion is to check the wiring.

Well if its just an oem sensor, I shouldn't have to just mess with the wiring.

I unplugged the sensor and the gauge went dead, and the light stayed constant. For now I plugged the crap sensor back in and zip tied it to the other sensor. So the gauge is pegged high and the light is off.

I may just have super low oil pressure.

You said that you changed the sensor and it didn't fix your problem so that is why I suggested your wiring. Did you change the filter when you did the oil? So your gauge is reading correctly but just having problems with the light? I hope the pressure isn't low from the engine. Not good. You might want to check with your local auto parts and see if they rent or sell a gauge that you can put in place of the sensor and see what the oil pressure is reading and go from there. Good Luck.

The new sensor works fine, the gauge is reading correctly, and since it's an 05 it's an actual gauge and not a dummy. And it's pressure is reading in between the tolerance lines.

The problem is the light is blinking like crazy. It blinks before I even start the truck, that's my thought on something other than the motor actually having low pressure. But I will take it to dealer soon and give it a shot. Motor still runs great. If nothing else I'll buy a spare block. Who knows how long it's been driven with this low of pressure if it is low

If it turns to be low press.then you will need the rear/ back timing cover. The main oil feed passage has a metal plate & gasket sealing it to the cover and the gasket will blow out causing low oil pressure. If your oil light flickers off & on at idle then that's a good sign the gaskets blown out. This happens more often on 3.5 than 4.0 Most of the time you can drop the metal oil pan and find pieces of the gasket in the pan on 3.5
