Power Difference?

HEy all. My gf drives a nissan xterra. They have the same engine no? Her engine is better on gas and seems significantly more responsive on the road but it is a year older.. Do I need new plugs or something or is it gear differently? Help..

Different weight, different aerodynamics changes fuel economy.

I dont know how you can compare the two. They are completely different vehicles. The truck weighs more, has different styling (aerodynamics) includes an open bed. Anytime you have more weight you are going to use more fuel. Plain and simple.

They are practicly the same vehicle forward of the B pillar. So the diffence you feel must be due to something your not considering, as mentioned maybe tire size, transmission types, gear ratios etc. What are the years of the two vehicles?

gearing could be part of it.
what gen vehicles?
what models?
What is the frontier? X is a bit shorter and is probably lighter than a fully loaded CC LB frontier.
My gen1 frontier runs better than my gen1 X.

Never took tire size into consideration. Thats a good call. I have 18's she has 15's but her tires have way thicker sidewalls than mine to total diameter is similar. It is a cc LE 6ft bed and hers is base x both 4wd. I think gearing might be playing a part as well as weight. I have backflip bed cover so its not an open bed. Not sure if that helps aerodynamics or not..
