Powder coated rims

I have seen people powder coat their stock rims. How do you think it turned out? I am having my nismo rims done and would like some input.

the nismo rims looking superb painted black(color i've mainly seen) i've seen other colors not bad but black looked very clean as if it were O.E.

I think the powder coated rims look great. It's on my list of things to do to my truck. I have debated between painting and powder coating and I think that powder coat is the way to go. Its very durable and flexible, I think it would be pretty tough to damage it.
The only perk of paint I see would be when you do damage it, a bit easier to fix, and cheaper overall.
Good luck. I say do it, make your truck even more pimp than it already is.
TOM...?

Rattle Can = Poor Results & Durability

i powder coated mine 14 months ago and still are pefect & shine , powder coating is more durable than a rattle can , and will outlast paint , just my .02 cents

Most people that have used spar paint need to repaint them after a few month.
Also powder coat just looks better.

Thanks guys. I am going to powder coat the rims black. I had a set of pro comp 7089 on order and then they stopped making them. Pro comp did offer me a great deal on others rims but I didn't like them. My tire guy is going to powder coat the rims and set me up with dick cepek crushers at a great price. Only bad part is that my truck will be on blocks for a week and a half while the rims are done. I will post pics when the truck is done.

They are making the 7189 and 7289, basically the same wheel. 7189 has the machined lip with some black in it. I think it would look like a pin wheel while you are driving. Pro comp says they no longer make anything in a sixteen inch wheel, atleast that would fit a frontier.
