Plastic turning white

My plastic lining where the windsheild wipers are is turning all white in color. Is anyone else having this happen , this is on a 07 frontier wiht 7k miles.
SOlutions? I tried some things but it did not help

it's a common problem:

Faded Plastic

didn't want to deal with the dealer or cleaners so i had mine paint matched...

i agree with krypto, painting them is the only solution. you can also try clay bar and a ton of back to black but after a while they just fade again....

just about any car will do this, the only way to prevent it is to keep your vehicle garaged and never let the plastic see the sun, kind of defeats the purpose of having a vehicle though.

interesting.

i havn't heard of that problem over here and we have the worlds worse sun for eating plastic. mayby you guys got a diferent type of plastic ??

That's interesting Tweak'e...I thought all of the Frontiers were assembled in
Tennesee. Where are yours assembled ?? Japan or Austraila ?? Elsewhere ??

The best solution that I have found for the faded plastic is Turtle Wax ICE Synthetic wax.
Not only does it not turn white on the plastic like other waxes, it will bring back faded plastic.

I have started keeping a bottle around just for the plastic accents.

Now I will tell you. If you have a severely faded area, it can take several heavy coats to bring the plastic back. Just let each coat dry in before you apply the next. When you get where you want it, then buff it like you normally would.

And in addition to the plastic, this stuff is awesome on the tires. And it will not wash off in the rain either.

Frankly, I am suprised that more people are not doing this.
