Okay, So I've done all 3 myself. For the most part all are relatively easy installations. For the 1st gen, the rails have two mounting brackets, 8 bolts per rail, 4 mounting the bracket to the rail, 4 mounting the bracket to the frame on the truck. The Tonneau cover is equally easy but there's no drilling / screwing, it's all locking clamp setup so it might be slightly easier and you're working up high, not down low. The lights are probably the hardest / most time consuming due to the wiring, but not by a large margin. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, I'd rate each at a 2.

In terms of functionality, I'd say depending on your use, the tonneau cover and rails are more functional (for me the tonneau cover would be first choice). The lights are purely for looks, so...

Good idea for mods though & good luck

I took delivery of my LE in winter and it was clear the FIRST thing I needed was the splash guards. LEs come with the step rails and the tires are real good at wedging that nasty, salty winter slush between the rails and the truck body. Not good. The Nissan guards were dead easy to install and work great at keeping the rails clear in winter. Winter also showed that as nice as the carpeted floor mats are, all-season mats are a must. I got the OEM ones, but others highly recommend the even tougher WeatherTechs. Third, get a tonneau. It won't do anything mileage-wise (at least for me), but in winter it kept the snow out of the bed and in summer, lets me run with the KC's rear window open (a must if you roll down the main windows - the buffeting otherwise is intense). Without the tonneau, the over-cab vortex would pick up trash from the bed and whirl it back into the cab! Not good either.
