Noise from the rear

Has anyone had any issues with a noise coming from the rear of the truck. I sounds like something is loose it kindve shutters. I can hear it when the rear wheels hit a bump at different times. I have been to the dealer and they said everything is ok and tight.

Any ideas????

It is definately not a squeak. It sounds like heavy metal pieces banging together.

Maybe the leaf spring pack is loose, take it to another dealer and get a second opinion!

Hi I have the same noise, my dealer also checked that every thing was tight and could find nothing. I am starting to suspect that its the tailgate.
Regards
Peter

I have a very similar noise over bumps. You can almost duplicate if you go over the bump kind of side ways. Seems to be a normal thing. Dealership said everything was good. My truck has 460 miles on it now. ADAM

Two things I've noticed. One: If you have a bed extender, check the webbing strap that secures the extender to the tailgate. The straps tend to hit the extender while driving. Two: Some FronT have a weight attached on the exhaust. This will sometimes hit the frame when driving.

Mine makes the same noise. It's not some I worry about because when I use to drive my '95 Sonoma 4x4 5sp manual through a drivethru or an enclosed area like a parking garage there was SO MUCH backlash in the drivetrain that it sounded like I was driving a IH tractor or something. It was pretty ratty.
When I brought this up to my dealer he said to ride the clutch more to dampend the noise.......lol........idiots!!
