I agree, with the city it would have been a "bid" and they took the lowest bid, or the bid that was not disqualified for some reason. Depends on who is willing to give it away.

i dont know why they would even trade the frontiers yet anyhow? from watching the show on trutv they looked fairly new and in good shape, i guess they would wear after a while being in bumpy sand and salt water all day piled with gear.

i talked to a few lifeguards a while back and asked them how they liked them. they liked them alot, and mentioned that they held up very well in the sand and salty air- much better than the jeeps they used to have.

I believe the Ford Escapes are all hybrids. I believe that is the reason for the switch in Manhattan Beach and Hermosa. But yea, I miss seeing the Frontiers cruising in the sand.

Escapes.

What thechoop is saying is that the Escapes that Manhattan and Hermosa Beach are using are hybrids.

i think using an escape period i just dumb, you need a truck to be able to access the equipment better, remember lifeguards don't give a hoot which truck they use they take whatever the cheapest is, and toyota and ford must of given them certain beaches and awesome deal on a bunch of trucks.
