Nissan dealer trade in special ????

Hello all, I know there is a catch to this but has anyone who owns a late model frontier received this letter from their purchasing nissan dealer.
" Bring in your 2011 frontier and upgrade to the same model in a 2012 model year at no increase in payment or cost (no cash needed)"
I have a 2011 pro4x CC with 12K miles, just turned 1 year old and have no problems with it, but it does tempt you a little. I know there is a catch to it somewhere, but just wanted to see if anybody here got one of these notices and looked into it ??
I realize I have a year of payments into this one but still sounds interesting. Also, the rebates are now $2500 and when I bought mine they were only $1500. Hmmmmm

Nissan has been using this ploy for years; almost as long as it's been a well known fact that there is no such thing as a free lunch!

Any dealer can promise you a "no increase in payment" new car with a one year old trade-in. Just extend the terms from 60 months to 72 months.
I got the same dealer solicitation, RUN AWAY!

2011 for a 2012 might, be worth crunching the numbers depending on the interest rate, discount, and trade in value.

If they have a 0% interest rate for 60 months on the 2012 whereas you had (let's say) a 5.9% rate on your 2011. It might actually be worth a look it if you have a good reason to trade in. (color, more doors, mtx, etc)

Probably not worth the time if you're considering to trade for the same truck.

Actually I was thinking of changing colors and going with the SL model

I got the same letter. They told me they "needed" my 2010 because people were demanding them on the used car lot. Well I like my truck, so they can just buy a new one.

tell them "No extension in payments and its a deal."

One of the salesmen called me the other day, told me I had tier 0 Nissan credit available and wanted to know when I wanted to come by and look at a new Nissan.
I told him when my frontier dies.

You'd owe the difference in sales tax as well as the increase in insurance premium. After those there will be a whole new loan to pay off.
