Newbie question,
Hello everyone and the question i have is my 05 crew cab has 46k miles on it and now for the second time in a row when I fill up the service light came on and it will go off after 100 or so miles. This time the fuel gauge didnt go to full, Its still between empty and 1/4.
Has anyone else had this problem before i take it to the stealer?? Thanks for any info! |

yeah mine did the same thing a few months ago. Had to replace the pump and level sensor. I think it came as one unit. Replaced under warranty. Others have had the same problem.

Thanks! I hope this is something I can replace my self.
Do you know of any online microfiche so I can look up the parts? Last edited by UPSGUY : 11-25-2007 at 08:59 AM. |

This is a good place as well.
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat....cfm?siteid=55 Also, if you pm me your VIN, I can look up the unit. I have a Nissan FAST cd for the newer stuff. I use the site above to verify and get a good idea of the part's price from home.

In a previous vehicle I had the same issue. Shell gas caused it. Shell paid for the repairs, just had to show them receipts. Perhaps this or something like it has caused the failure. Save your receipts and search the web. I also suffered a 25% drop in gas mileage after the gauge failure.
http://www.sptimes.com/2004/05/29/Ta...ums_up_f.shtml WATCH THAT GAUGE Shell asks customers experiencing unusual gas gauge readings to monitor their mileage or to keep fuel tanks filled to avoid running out. Customers who think their vehicles' fuel gauges have been affected by gasoline originating from Motiva Terminals can contact Shell Customer Service Center at 1-866-562-6690 or file a claim online at www.interactclaims.com/shell |
