I sure do like those body lines on the tail gate area and the windows.

I agree the body lines are pretty nice.It looks a lot like the navara which I expected. Honestly I was hoping to get a couple years out of my 16 frontier before the new design comes out.But if it looks better and gets better mpg and same power it will give me something to look forward to in 3 years.

I saw that article yesterday.

But when reading the details it sounds like it's actually just the Navarra that they're running through the US crash tests to see how it performs.

So thought that the title was a bit misleading. I might have misread the article and maybe that is the model we can expect.

I think it actually works better if you have a relatively new Frontier because than you can wait for the next generation to be out for a couple of years and have the kinks worked out before getting one.

Also why are they referring it as the 2019 model year? Does this mean that we won't expect an updated Frontier by then? Was hoping for something later this year.

if they are only as far as crash testing a NP300, and it being April tomorrow, yea, I'd say 2019 would be the earliest you would see a production model for the U.S.

Crazy that they have left us on the back burner this long. I blame crossovers.

I was hoping for something this year, too. I don't think I'm going to wait until the hopefully 2019 model Frontier is updated and could offer a diesel option and they might not play games by only offering it in some stupid configuration that won't work for me . . . Nissan totally screwed the pooch on this deal as far as I'm concerned.

Until Nissan officially announces they will be offering something new, it's all just speculation and games- at the rate they've been moving, I don't think they will have anything new before 2020 or 2021. They've been asleep at the wheel when it comes to the U.S. Frontier, no reason to believe anything's changed just because the public is asking for it and has been asking for it for the last 8 years.

On the bright side I see the coil/multi-link rear suspension we should have gotten 3 years ago.

I'm hoping they don't play the stupid game they played in 2000 and 2005, release it in short bed only and release long bed the next year.
