need help with tires...

hey all, first off i'm in the army if you didn't know...and it looks like i'll be getting stationed in fairbanks, alaska. It's also time to buy new tires, was looking at a few different A/T's and a couple M/T's. I need a tire that will be good for light trail riding in summer and LOT'S of snow in the winter. what do you all think would be good, btw; they will be on for the 65 hour trip from austin texas to there, so I'm leaning more towards an A/T...thanks for all the help guys.

I have Nitto Terra Graplers. They ride great and wear really well.

A few members here have said good things about the Dick Cepek F-C II with regard to their snow handling.

I have had very good results with Bridgestone Blizzaks. There are many models and sizes to choose from and they are quite available. I find them to be quiet and have very good ride and handling qualities.
Best snow/winter tire I have ever used and they are fabulous in the wet.

Toyo Open Country M/T

These wear really well and are surprisingly quiet on the highway. Plus they are great in the snow. My brother has 35" on his F150 and it'll go like crazy. Mine haven't seen snow yet, but I can't wait to try them out.
