the compressor will short cycle when the system is low on freon, the freon carries the lubricating oil to the compressor so this short cycle is a safety, when the systen gets low enough it won't cycle at all. when the system gets to this point you have to bypass the "low" sensor with a jumper wire to get it run to add freon. i will X2 on taking someone up on their generous offer to help you.

SINCE THERE'S A PRESSURE SWITCH IN THE SYSTEM TO KEEP THE COMPRESSOR FROM TURNING ON WITHOUT SUFFICIENT FREON CHARGE(HAS TO HAVE FREON TO MOVE OIL AND WITHOUT OIL AND THE COMPRESSOR ON IT WOULD QUICKLY BURN UP, WHICH IS WHY YOU NEVER BYPASS THIS FEATURE) AND SINCE IT CLICK AND HE SAID HE ALSO GOT A SQUEEL I AM LEANING MORE TO BURNED UP CLUTCH, LOCKED UP COMPRESSOR, OR POOR POWER/GROUND CIRCUITS TO CLUTCH, BUT THATS IF HE EVER COMES BY FOR ME TO LOOK AT.......................
