Well on topic, but no where near as bad....I took mine in for a noise on the AC blower, I told them to call when they figure out the problem and before they charged me for ANYTHING, and she did, turns out I had some branches in the blower and it would cost $65 labor to remove them since it was not a warranty issue, I told them to bolt that baby back together and Ill take care of it. 10 minutes later she calls back saying the mechanic took them out free of charge LOL! In the end I was always polite and calm and maybe a little flirtatiouse with the service lady. It helped also that everytime prior to that I would hang out in the garage and shoot the sh!t with the mechanics, so they knew my truck.

Oh, and by the way, this is how I got my truck back. Nissan just says I should take legal action with the dealer at this point and they want nothing to do with it.

Do you think that was intentional or incompetence? I would pitch a fit if they did that to my truck.

hey thats pretty good, I even know who worked on your truck! Ben, Ben the Butcher, I can tell from his hack job, broken and missing bolt, and crushed heat shields. And yes Nissan is not exactly responsible for their dealers directly, thats why there are good, bad, and great dealers out there, and the same with the employees at all of them. I would immediatly go back in, demand that the heat shields either be replaced with new or dispute the whole bill with them and your credit card company for shoddy work. Did you ask for the old parts before they were tossed into the trash?

yah, I used to work for a company that rhymes with Snapital One. and disputing a charge is easy. Call them Be polite, do not demand a supivisor cuz normally its just another more knowledgeable agent that can do little more than transfer you... but a dispute with the card company is way easier and cost nothing compared to lawyers. wierd I know.

Thanks again! I brought the truck in to Nissan again this morning. I was calm and collected, and showed them the damage. (maybe they were nice to me because I had the sedated going to cry or kill you look.) Frontier drivers dont cry though- right?
Anyway, they take a look at it and tell me that they will replace the heat shields on both sides. Get this- they wrote it up as if it was a seperate complaint, and now Nissan is going to pay them for this on top of the $1450 that I paid them.
If it is that easy to make something covered under warranty, why couldnt they do that with my clutch?
They told me I did it, so I have to pay for it.
Now they did the damage, and Nissan will pay for it.
These people are either genius' or retarded.

and yes, i did get the old parts back. I will take them to a clutch specialist and see what he has to say. I already disputed the rental bill with my Amex card, they were very good about it. I guess next is the repair bill.
Appreciate the help.

Yes, it is that easy - they could have covered it, but then they would not have made $1450.

If possible, take a picture of the clutch and post it here.

What did I tell you about who see and knows what!!! The tech, advisor and maybe service manager if it goes that far. Now you really have them by the balls cause you could enf up getting them audited by Nissan and thats never a good thing. I have seen managers loose their jobs in audits. So let them do the repair under warranty then contact Nissan especially the regional parts and service manager for Nissan to report dealership fraud. Or maybe a news station on how you feel defrauded on the rental(clutch is a reach) and how now after they screwed youo theyre doing it to the manufacturer, and if its this prevalent the rest of their customers much be getting it up the tail pipe too.........

There also have been times when you paid for the repair and they also send it in as a warranty claim so they got double payments.

my god man... after all the trouble you have been through you should be getting free oil changes for life from that dealership. That and marriage rights to the first born daughter of the dealership owner.
