My Cats got Stolen!!! help please~~

I recently got my catalytic converter jacked while my truck was parked at home... I live in california and finding aftermarket cats is becoming an ordeal...

Does anyone know where i can get a converter for my Nissan Frontier 2000 4CYL XE, Kingcab? It needs to be legal for CA

The stealerships trying to charge me $650 for it, and i can't fork this out...

I don't understand, you have two trucks? You sig says you have:

06 Frontier NISMO Black 4x4
OP: Sunroof, Rocksford, Bed Extender
Performance: AirAid CAI

yet you are asking about a 2000 4CYL XE KC?

Your best bet will be to order it online and have a shop custom install it and have them weld it in to help deture theives next time. I also understand that they most likely just used a Saws-All to cut it out and not a wrench but the welding might deture some of the theives.

I can't believe some loser actually stole your cats. Is this something that is common in your area? Good luck in finding some used ones.

Unfortunately, yeah... there's palladium, platinum and rhodium in the substrate inside and some people steal the whole cat so they can refine out those metals and sell them. Of course, there are probably also now people stealing cats to sell them to people who have had their cats stolen... they are becoming quite the commodity these days.

I'm trying to think up a way to protect mine... it's getting kind of ridiculous...

I couldn't help but think of some guy running out of your house down the road with cats all over him... But wow dude that sucks. I haven't heard to much of things like that happening to cars on streets but i know there was some thing on the news a few weeks ago where some one stole 20+ of them off truck from a dealer.
