Mud flaps and air dam under front bumper?

Going up to Wisconsin this week and plan on getting the truck dirty.

Pulled the mud flaps (front and back) off my 06 today. Also removed the right and left section of the gray plastic air dam under the front bumper. Left the center portion on but am thinking of pulling that off too.

Anyone here do that on the stock front bumper? I'm thinking it gives me a teeny bit of more clearance in the front.

What do you guys think? Is that just plain stupid or will it give me a little more clearence?

It may give a little clearance but you still have the tow hook hanging there. I took mine off about a week ago because I think it looks better without it on. Now I'm just trying to decide if I want to leave the tow hook on since I've never used it.

if you mean the part that I think you do, take it off. looks much better without it and really, if youre the type to get the truck dirty, who cares if you can see the tow hook.

I was thinking maybe it added a little stone or small rock protection to the radiator. It's the center plastic piece right under the license plate (under the bumper).

My camera crapped out on me but here's some really crappy pics from my trip:

Also have some non-digi pics that need to be developed. Hopefully those will look better.

Get rid of it. Less to was later and lets you clean a little further under the front.

This was around Buck Horn state park north of the dells. There's some short trails on the park. Also did some dirt road driving at the Necedah Wildlife Area. They have 39000 acres with what seemed like 15 to 20 miles of dirt ATV roads. It would have been more fun if it was muddy.

Took that air dam off my truck a while ago. I truly do think that it looks better. Even thinking about taking off the fake skid plate but afraid that I might loose a little aero on the brick.

The air on look is kinda growing on my. Makes the truck kinda look like an H3 Hummer from the front. I think I might leave it as is.

Edit... at least till I shwrock it. Someday I'll save up some money.

I took that off my truck. I think it looks a lot better with them off. I took the front air dam off, and took just the front mudflaps off.
