Just a designation for base model. Nissan used to have cars with a GXE tag which was the premium edition, not anymore.

I don't know what it means but my 95 XE KC had chrome bumpers and chrome power mirrors.

So far from what I can tell that I missed out on were the RF sound system, a sunroof, and a super charger.....none of which I wanted anyway. I have power windows and locks and that junk. I'd rather have a Crew Cab V6 Longbed and have it be an XE than get any of those other options and have a small truck.
