Maximum/Biggest Tire Size for '08 Frontier?

I just ordered an '08 Nismo King.. (yay!) I want to pimp it out right away, but don't know what to do about tires & wheels.. Does anyone know the widest tire that will fit before you start to bump into other stuff? What about the largest diameter without a lift? Ideally I'd like to do 285/70-18s, that would be a 7.9" sidewall, 16.9" radius, and be 33.7" diameter.. which is about a 6.5% rolling radius increase over the 265/75-16s that come installed from the factory. (265/75-16 is 7.8" sidewall, 15.8" radius, and 31.6" diameter). Does anyone know if this will fit at maximum articulation of the suspension? Also, does anyone have experience with speedometer recalibration?

I'm guessing that the 285s will be fine, since that's only 4/5" wider or so total (or about 2/5ths on either side of center).. it's the aggregate increase in diameter of 2 inches that concerns me.

Thanks..

Hey man, most of this could be answered if you did a bit of searching...but anyway.

Your pretty much going to need to lift it if you want to go higher than stock tire size. 285's will definitely rub. However, if you do plan on wheeling anyway, I would recommend a lift, which will then let you fit 33's (285/75R16) on with ease....These trucks are very low in the front.

33.7" dia will be a rub-o-rama w/o a lift. Mine had mudflap rub at 31.9".

Geometry of the tires shoulders/tread also plays a role.

Plan for a lift first, then do your wheels/tires.

Agreed, I think there have been more discussions on this topic than any other, but yes get a 3" lift and go grab some new wheels and 33's. Even then expect to have rubbing depending on type of tire you get (square shouldered tires rub more than rounded ones), so you may have to take a heat gun to the plastic fender liner.
