M/T Truck Of The Year

M/T's truck of the year Chevrolet Sliverado for 2007. It's been several years since an American product was voted truck of the year.

I know M/T isn't always regarded as the most truthful of judges in some folks opinion. Some consider $$$$ to be the results of their testing and results. I know M/T doesn't sway me in my decision what I drive or purchase. Anyway, I thought I would pass this information along.

It's not a bad looking truck and they used to build a good truck. Not enough to send me to a Chevrolet dealership though.

correct me if i'm wrong, but generally speaking "of the year" designations are only given to new model vehicles, and since the titan wasn't significantly redesigned for the year it wouldn't even be considered...

Technically you are correct. But wouldnt it have been great to see? I think Titan offers way more "truck for the buck" than any of the GM models but, thats just my opinion.

I hate seeing in most of the 4x4 mags how Chevy seems to win every single competition and they bring in 3 models to test. Rarely do Titans or Frontys get that kind of exposure.

That means they should put the 07 tundra on the list becase it's redesigned too and probably have more power then the chevy.

tundra's won't be out before their deadline of before jan of the year. therefore it will be on next years competition and probably win. the titan almost one the year it came out. the last chevy to win was the avalanche.

I saw a lot of the interior that they were impressed with. They're a total ripoff of all the things Nissan put in the Titan.
I do think it's cool how they can switch from operating 8 cyl under load, and 4 cyl operation for cruising. They claim 20 mpg and up using this system.
They also have a cool eaton rear mechanical locking diff.

the switch really does save gas if it turns off the cylinders during idle.

It's supposed to be just a refresh for '08 and then a redesign maybe for 2010 model year. I can't wait to see what power they will have in the next gen, hopefully 350+ hp.
However, next year it will be the Tundra that gets the award since it was stated that it's coming out too late to get it this year.
