Is there any way that you didn't put the correct filter on and the oil is leaking from there? This would be the only place I would think oil could come from if it is the front of the engine.

Also, I wouldn't keep waiting for it to become all nice and oily. You might hit a point where you are low and you are actually causing more damage to your truck.

LoL...for the 3rd time, the oil was there BEFORE I even started my oil change...and I check my oil level all the time. I just posted this thread to vent my frustration at the dealer's typical response to get out of warranty work.

I read your initial post too fast. I reread it and see where you said "as soon as I got under the truck..." My goof. Sorry Sir.

When I got my truck, the dealer did a free 4 week/1,000 mile oil change and service. Did the dealer change your oil as part of their new car prep? This could explain the oil on the skid plate. Just my 2 cents... I think it was a bad idea to blow off your first 3,750 mile service.

I was under my truck today as I was having my new exhaust done and noticed A LOT of oil all over the front skid plates, so we lower the truck down and pop the hood. I look down and the whole driver side of the engine bay has oil on it from about the valve cover down. I dunno what it is and the truck only has 2200 miles on it so tomorrow morning I am going to take it buy the dealer. There is NO reason for it to be leaking oil anywhere since the oil has NEVER been changed. I didnt clean anything off, I left it covered in oil so they can see it themselves

That suckS ***. My dealership cleans the oil on the skid plates and the motor. At Bronco Motors they have a huge window that is a view to the shop as employees are working. I watched my truck get the 15000 mile service and they were very meticulous about their jobs and workmanship. KUDOS...
I saw a guy wearing a bicycle suit outfit washing cars in the car wash area and I asked the technician who that was? She said, "It's the owner (Grant Peterson), he comes in occassionally on weekends and helps wash cars?" WOW, you will not see that from many CEO's.

How exactly did I blow off my 3,750 mile service? Just because I didn't have the dealer do it? I do my oil changes myself and save my receipts for parts I purchase.

I didn't know you are keeping the receipts. I apologize for the bad choice of words. Good luck with the new truck!!

I tear the top off the filter box and write the date, mileage and vehicle (if you own more than one) and keep them in a safe place. Should be enough evidence to satisfy the dealer.
Your engine bay should be spotless and they should NOT have given it back to you unless they were POSITIVE there wasn't a leak still.
You can do lots of harm by driving it while pushing the oil level down from the source. We know it's not your fault but who wants the hassle of a motor failure? Could you have a warped valve cover or a damaged valve cover gasket? Good luck.
