I didn't know that. It kinda frustrated me when I GPS'd it going on vacation and found out my speedo was faster, I didn't have to worry about gettin a ticket though cause I was goin slower than it said I was. I just put 275(32") Terra Grapplers on my new wheels so I'm hopin that will sync things up a bit closer.

On my '08 NISMO, the speedometer and odometer are nearly dead on (about 1.5% error, i.e., shows 70 and is really 69). This is very important for my work as I clock half miles and miles regularly. The speedometer is confirmed by the GPS and mile marker clocking. In fact, I would say it is the most accurate of any vehicle I've had in recent memory. You can make adjustments to the speedometer thru modification in tires by size, by way of the number of revolutions per mile.

not all of them are that far off. mine was 1% high before I went with bigger tires, now it's 6% low.

It wasn't just because they were heavier, but because larger tire sizes will throw off the computer and that will cause it to pump more fuel in the engine. After I installed the device and recalibrated it to the new tire size, my speedo was corrected and even my mpg went back to almost what I was getting before with the 32's. Highway was very close and I hope that this device will work when I install 33's.
I think it had more to do with the fact that you were not correcting for the bigger tires that were travelling farther than the odo claimed once you put bigger tires on.

Going from 265/70/16 to 285/75/16 is about 7% bump. If you dont correct for it, you will think your mileage is 7% lower than it really is.

pretty sure they all read at least 1% high, regardless of mfr. not only that, do you test it when the tires are new or worn? new tires have a larger diameter than worn so the accuracy changes as your tires wear.
