Alright guys. I need helps, opinions, etc... on why my damn truck consumes so much gas. And let's put aside the tire size and lift.
Engine is stock, no change, no add-on.
I was having 13 mpg average driving mix highway and city starting around 50K miles. The truck is 75K miles now.
What I changed to try to fix the issue:
- Replaced air-fuel ratio sensors
- Replaced O2 sensors
- Replaced valve cover gaskets
- Replaced spark plugs
- Replaced thermostat and changed cooling
- Clean fuel injectors and replaced the O-rings
- Clean MAF sensor
- Clean throttle body
Now I got 16mpg driving all highway. But this is still pretty damn low.
When I opened up the intake, I smelled gas badly.
When I opened the fuel injectors, it gunked up inside the housing (not on the injectors.
When I opened up the spark plugs, they are wet and has gas/oil smell on the thread.
Come on guys, help me out here. I'm not ready to replace the gas pump or the cat just yet. But I might have to.
Thanks,

Why would we put aside something that would kill your mileage?
Just because those are not the factors. I had tire/lift done when it was around 15 - 18K miles. But the fuel mileage issue didn't happen till 50K miles. If those affected the mpg, then it should be happening right after I had those added.

I was a heavy footer since day 1. Now, even I'm driving like a 70 years old lady, it wouldn't help.

lift and wheels/tire have a huge effect of MPG. go back to stock and i wouldn't be surprise if you gas mpg shots up
No help, cuz. I agree that lift and wheels/tire could have a huge impact on mpg, but like I said earlier, it should happen right around 18 - 20K miles, not wait till 32K miles to start kicking in.
