Has anyone heard this before???

Ok, I have a 2012 p4x cc with 500 mi on it. I went to belle tire and swapped out the stock bfg for some 265/75-16 lr c kelly TSR . I left and noticed vibes around 70mph. Took it back for rebalance. Still has same vibes but a bit better. Called tire store and was told " I should have told you the stock nissan wheels are hard to balance . Its hard to get them on the cone of the balancer straight due to the large center hub opening " WTF??

Discount tire has never had a problem doing mine before.

Find a Discount Tire in your area. They do free rotations for everyone and balancing is like $30.

Inept person at the tire store just trying to blow you off and get you to accept the problem. Get your money back and go somewhere else.

those tire guys are idiots. can't just use a regular cheap tire balancer for a P4X wheel.

I know they are idots because why would you even take the job if you can't perform the work.LOL Discount has done me way wrong the last time i used them too. I am going let belle have one more try for kicks. If nothing I can go to a local ( but great ) tire store and see what they can do. Does discount typically have the proper balancer/ adapter to balance p4x wheels? It sucks because if I was ask for a refund I am screwed i sold the stock tires today.

Hi: jd101...Seems you bought yourself into an entire new problem. Why did you swap out the stock tires in the first place. I usually run the stock tires till they're bald then buy a good set.

Well, I want to get to places the stock tires cant take me. That said it dosen't excuse the conduct of the tire shop. I did call discount and they said this is a problem they have encountered also. They also pretty much walked around the question : Do you have the equipment to get a proper balance with my px4 wheels?.

For what it's worth, I once had a new wheel tire combo that none of my local shops could get the vibes out of. (I live in a smaller than one horse town)
I went to Tire Rack dot com and punched in to search for their 'nearest to me' recommended shop. It was over 30 miles away but I wanted this done. They were able to get it right on the first try and I have taken more sets to them over the years.

Hi: jd101...We have the same problem balancing trailer tires. The axle hubs are bigger requiring a different wheel and machine to do the job. Maybe a trailer/RV dealer could help with their machine?

can you tell which tire is causing the vibration?

have teh tire center break the bead, turn the tire 90* on the rim, and reset and balance it. tires will have a light or heavy area marked. this should be lined up with the valve stem.
