Hard times for small shops

With the economy circling the drain how many of these shops where we get our accessories/mods our gonna make it with out going under?

My thinking is it ain't looking good for the home team!

Well being in the aftermarket business myself, I can tell you only one thing. If we want to still see the goodies that all of these small shops have for us, we need to cough up the cash and support them through this horrable time now buy purchasing product from them. Even if it is something small and cheap, the more of us that help, the more of us get to reap the benifits of shops making it through. I am sure that our club will not be forgotten by these small shops. Who knows what they will do for us by helping. (i.e. DISCOUNTS).

NO JOKE! I just spent my life savings opening BWOR and now we are hearing crickets instead of cash registers! I am counting on the internet community to carry us through the hard retail times. It would suck to have to close down a month or two after we open. So please, show your support for the small shops (especially the one that caters to Nissan owners like, I don't know, PRG, Black Widow, etc.

BWOR is different in that we are a MFGR AND a Retail store. We sell our own products, but we also have over 40,000 SKU's in our inventory right now. In SLC we are one of the ONLY alternatives to 4 wheel parts for retail sales and service of off road accessories but after 2 weeks of being open, we have barely sold over $1000.

So please, if your thinking about sliders, or anything else for your truck, support the PRG's and BWOR's of the world. We are here for you but we need you to be there for us too!

Thanks to whoever started this thread!

I think in niche markets such as auto racing and off roading - there will always be a need for quality components and quality service. More and more people are wanting better service - not only in terms of quality workmanship but also in quality customer service.

What people have to realize, and also to keep at heart, is that the working blue collar is America. Its their hardship that corporates get their money. So, support your local dealer. Suck it up and pay the extra $15 to buy local or from a smaller chain. Odds are, its better workmanship anyway. That extra $15 will be putting a meal on his family's table.

I work for a tire shop out here in the bay area. As far as the economy goes we have seen a decrease in customers, but we still have those days where we cant even take a 5 min break.
