For anybody fixing this problem I'd check the hood latch before the bumpstops. And "real" grease that comes in a tub is alot better than the spray on stuff. Be very generous with the grease when applying. Put some in the actual latch (all over it). Then put a very generous amount on the latch "loop" (the part that's on the hood). You can usually see where the paint has rubbed off on the loop causing metal to metal contact. Once you do all that the problem should be solved! If not, do the bumpstops too!

like i said.............i cleaned my latch/wd40 and it went away til dirty again.................right now it squeeks like a *****............on every little ****ing bump in the road and when offroad thats all i constantly hear without my radio on.

wd40 is a solvent, not a lubricant. Use a lube.

I mine was doing the same thing the day after i got it. I took axle grease and put it on the rubber stops and in the latch and that seemed to fixed it. That was over 6 months ago and i have yet to hear a peep from it.
