Gen 2 belts?
How soon do you guys change your belts? I currently have 44k approx. on my truck.

check the belt for cracking.....belts usually last from 60k to 90k but depends your driving characteristics....just count how many cracks there are per inch....

"Replace engine belts at 60,000 miles"
That is when the scheduled maintenance manual says to. Usually I just look at them and make sure they are not cracking and dont have any riblets missing on the inside.

I changed mine at 30k. Its only $9 at the dealership, and it took me about 10 minutes to do.

My dealer said 21.00 for the belt. Guess I'll check a bit closer for cracks. It might be fine. Thanks for the info.

yea that's usually on any given brand's 50k or 60k mile service depending on brand and depending on car. radiantsilver is right tho, our service manual says 60k
