Gas Gauge not reading correctly

Hey guys, Has anyone had a problem with their gas gauge not reading right? Mine has always been a little off. but the other day I add a TBS and cut out the screen. Since the needle has moved really fast. I filled up and only needed 4 gals with the needle at half a tank. Any ideas???

After a fill up, I drive about 50 miles and its a 3/4, the bottom end says I am empty and I have about 5 gal. left. I guess it is best to more in the bottom than run out of gas, but it just doesn't seem all that accurate to me.

There is a TSB out about an erratic fuel gague. If you take it to the dealer and explain whats happening the will most likely replace the fuel gague sending unit.

FWIW, I recently purchased my used 2005 Nissan Frontier LE. It had a faulty Gas Gauge and the dealer replaced it before delivering the vehicle.

I went to the dealer today for my oil change and they say that the gas messes with the sending unit causing it to read wrong. I just always set my trip meter and from the time the light comes on if I let it go that far, I have 4 gals. But yes the dealer offered to replace it and said it would probably do it again until they figure out how to fix the sending unit inself.

Send a message via AIM to S13Disco
just go to the dealer frontier, xterra, armada and titan are know for this. let them know what is going on and they will most likely change your fuel sending unit.
