That sucks, mine has never been on the hook. It has had some down time, but it always got me home.

Sometimes the issue is the mechanic. These days they just replace parts but can't find the cause of a failure. There was a member on another forum when I had my last Frontier who had a problem the dealer couldn't find. His uncle looked and found a wire harness stuck and pinched under another part. He removed it from where it was and fixed the cut wire and all was well. He took it to the dealer and told them what was wrong and their reply was "I bet that's what must be wrong with those other trucks" There were eleven other Frontiers with the same defect and the dealer couldn't fix it but the customer could. We can only guess how many vehicles are taken back under lemon law claims because the tech was not good enough at his job to repair the problem.

Going to go out on a limb here. I went out one day, and tried to start my truck, and it cranked and cranked for awhile, then started and almost acted like it was flooded. At the time the truck had been sitting for a few days and I had left some electronics on. My su****ion is that my battery was low, enough to crank, but not enough to catch. I don't know if that is what the issue was, but the alternator went higher than norm after start for about an hour. So, as I said, I could be going down an incorrect path, but it might be possible your battery is a bit low.

Oh yeah, my wife used my truck and couldn't get it to start a couple of times. She had the valet key on the spare ring with another key. So when she put the valet key in it wouldn't start

That Sucks.

If it just cranks, it might also have something to do with the anti-theft 9if you have one.) If she doesn't see the chip in the key, it's just going to crank.)

The truck should start with the valet key. The only difference between the regular key and the valet key, is that the valet will not unlock the glove compartment.

Assuming it's a factory Valet key from the dealer. If the history of the key is unknown (i.e. You bought the truck used.) Assume nothing.

If the valet key is on a key ring with a chipped key it will not start.
