Flickering Dash Light

While driving back from Louiseville,Ky last Sunday my differential lock light began flickering on the left side of my instrument panel. I pulled over and pushed my diff lock switch on and off a few times to make sure it wasn't partially engaged. Jumped back on the highway and it still flickered. Where do I start looking to remedy this? 06 cc nismo 2wd. Don't know if it matters but there was a very strong headwind all 300 miles home.

Mike

There are a few things that could cause this. I have read about a few on this forum, from a simple faulty switch or similar, to a problem in the rear end itself. Mine went on because a clip in the rear end broke, so the truck thought the diff was locked all of the time. The dealership replaced my whole rear end. Nissan makes it as an assembly, rather than having replaceable parts. Luckily mine was under warranty.

still to come; tjm leaf packs, and shocks, tjm extended travel coilovers, uca, 16x8.5 wheels or 1-1/4" wheel spacers, n-fab nerf bars or rock sliders, intake manifold spacer, lightweight crank pulley, e-fan, plasti-dip chrome.

I haven't crawled under there yet because it's just too cold here. Are you saying there's a electrical connector on the outside of the rear diff? Or are you reffering to some other clip?

i believe the clip was on the inside of the rear axle. i wish i asked what it was for. my best guess is it was either a mount for a sensor or a component of the locking mechanism itself.

i'd hate to say it, but your best bet might be to get it checked out. i honestly have not heard of anyone having the same problem as me. it seems like most times it is something in the wiring of the truck rather than the diff or axle.
