Finally bought a new Fronty!

After playing dealership roulette for a while I finally was able to get the truck I really wanted. 2012 King Cab Pro 4x 6 spd in Lava Red. It is one heck of a good looking truck... and you really can't beat their VPP program for military.

This being my first truck I'm thinking about snow and the winter. I'm assuming some weight in the back is good for traction, but is it preferred to use a cover in the winter? Can anybody point me towards a good thread on the virtues of different covers?

Congrats, but we need pictures! Let us see this sexy beast.

Here's a thread with 7 pages on toppers: What's the best tonneau cover out there?

I prefer tall caps.
Few hundred #s in back helps a lot.
Stock tires are not very good but with being new should be OK this winter.

Outside of $1K offer for ONLY Frontier/Armada/Xterra/Titan, VSS aint that great. Hundred fifty bucks off a 2012 Versa, 370Z, Altima, Juke, Maxima, Murano, ugly box Van & Quest & that Cube thing aint that hot. Yep, $150. Just to compare, the minimum military discount Ford, Toyota, Hyundai, Honda, and Chrysler offers is $500. Fairly certain GM leads the pack, insert Government Motors joke here.

Some kudos to Nissan for offering VSS to Hurricane Sandy victims. *some kudos because rebates rolled back :^(

On a positive note -- congrats on your purchase, and since you qualified for the military VSS - THANK YOU for your service.

You are going to want a get a tonneau cover. It prevents dick heads from tossing garbage into the bed of your truck when you are not around. It also keeps the bed from filling up with snow. I also makes a GREAT huge locking trunk. lol

Welcome and congratulations on your purchase, love that color(and that gorgeous new blue) my Night Armor color is so bland to me haha.

Got to love the Nissan VPP program, its the main reason I bought a Nissan(that and I love my Nissans), took an ungodly amount off the price no questions asked.
