Engine problem or just a sticky drive by wire?

Since I've owned my '08 Crew Cab SE 4x4 there have been a few times where I have needed to use WOT to pass someone, leave a stop light and get ahead of traffic to turn left, etc... And I can count on one hand how many times it's done it but.... My truck seems to have a slight bog at times when using full throttle from a dead stop or slight roll. Example mash the gas and the truck takes off like the gas is 1/2 throttle, smooth and not sputtering which leaves me to believe it's either a characteristic of the drive by wire? and then once it gets to about 3K or more it's off like a rocket. Kind of annoying. I was embarrassed because I got cut off by the minivan the other day at a traffic light so I moved into the open lane right. Figured I would just get my self far enough ahead when the light turns green. I stepped on the gas and it was like **pause** **pause** for about two seconds then it shot off like a bullet? Is this normal or a problem brewing? Truck has 7300 miles. I've changed the oil twice since new and use 91 octane fuel. The only thing I can say I've accidentally done was use 87 grade fuel for about a month until I got sick of the pinging and rough feel of the motor then switched back to 91.

I have never had that problem in my truck, i use 87, and have 52000 miles on mine. I would get that looked at.

x2 what Mylt1 said.
Although with the 6M I don't really ever seem to notice it being a problem since I have control over my RPM range and not some brain box.

x3. Though, with an Uprev tune, you can get rid of that "feature"

I'm well aware that it does.
Unlike auto trannys though we can keep our RPMs were we want them my six speed brother.
Ever do a 3500 RPM launch?

Its also easier to tow a boat with auto, offroad with an auto, and backup with a auto.

But I love my 6m.
