DRL install
Hey guys, just letting ya know that my DRL install is complete. I used two relays, as there are two seperate low beam wires coming from the IPDM. The low beam wires are pin 52 and 54 in connector E123 at the IPDM. To trigger the relays, I used the trailer tow relay output (battery voltage when key on), white/green pin 27 in connector E121. There is a ground line and 12 volt line at the IPDM as well. System works great and took under an hour.

So why not just turn on your headlights?

I am from Canada, to pass the federal inspection the vehicle must have Daytime Running Lights. Ya gotta pass the federal inspection in order to license the vehicle. I'll get pics up as soon as I get some pics of it.

I didn't know that... How long have DRL's been a requirement?

Quite a while, I don't know for sure to be honest. Pretty easy install once I got the wiring schematic though. Got a buddy that brought upa Tacoma and they are pre-wired for DRL's, just gotta pop in a relay. The US Frontier and Canadian Frontier have different wire harnesses, because the wires for the DRL aren't there on my US model.
Pics still to come.

DRL's annoy me. I thought they were just a passing fad. Funny thing is that they are supposed to make a car more visible, however when a law is passed to require every vehicle to have them, it kind of defeats the purpose. (nothing against our canadian neighbors) I say just leave it to motorcycles.
