anything that you do to your truck that alters its factory appearance or components is a modification. an upgrade is a TYPE of modification.
for example, painting your wheels black is a modification. it is up to the person whether or not he or she thinks it is an upgrade. while it may not be an upgrade on performance, it is a possible upgrade to the look of the vehicle. another example, changing out your factory stereo to dvd player is a modification to the stock component and is a definite upgrade from the cd player.

I guess I have a bunch of mods on my truck that I never considered mods.
Whatever they're called...I like them! Oh, about breast augmentation: it's in the same category as penile implants. And we all know what women say when they see hugely lifted trucks with "look at me" equipment on them (the truck, that is). Hint: it's not complimentary.

I agree with SD Frontier, anything that changes your truck from how it was when it was delivered is a modification! Almost all of the modification I've done to my truck I also consider upgrades, because to me they also increased the value of the truck! Again, this "value added" is subjective, and what may be considered of value to one person isn't necessarily considered of value to another. Thus, the reason I still have my stock exhaust and airbox in the garage! Engine modifications are probably the most subjective upgrades. Not many folks would want me to remove and replace the body side molding, auto dimming mirrors, bed extender, etc, but they may not want the TBS, CAI, exhaust, etc, and may consider them as liabilities to the value of the truck (i.e. the perception that someone with performance mods may have been harder on a vehicle than someone with a stock engine)!

I think it's easy to see what 05_NISMO_4X4 considered a mod.

If you want to draw a line between mods and upgrades, use disappearing ink, lol.
