Double check before commiting...

So Ryan was reading my thread on spark plug replacement for 4 bangers and apparently the dealership told him 3 to 4 hours....WTF?! I'm doing the plugs myself cause i have my own shop but according to book time on Mitchell, it calls for 2 hours for the 4cyl. and 1.7 hours the 6 cyl. if you think the dealership is charging way too much for labor, call an independent shop and ask them for labor time...mind you the dealership will have the highest hourly rate( anywhere from 100.00 to 130.00)...anyone having similar problems as Ryan?

p.s. doing the work at an independent shop will not void the warranty.

OK, I give up. What does the 4-cyl Gen 2's engine bay look like? I think it took me about 30 minutes to change my plugs on my 4-cyl.

lol...you are in for a shocker.... it is right beneath the intake plenum...so removing the air box/intake plenum/ intake manifold combo is a must to get to 3 spark plugs.... stupid, stupid, stupid design....

I have a truck. It gets me from A to B. Why I spend so much money changing it, I will never know. Is there a cure for this disease? I have no idea what I would be using all my money for if there was a cure.

um 1st gen has 4-banger? KA24? hardbody is the same...

first gen frontier is pretty much a hardbody with different sheetmetal, not a whole lot really changed between 97 (last year of the hardbody) and 98 (first year of the frontier).
